Another Great Sausage Sizzle

---- We open most Fridays from 5 pm. Everyone is welcome ----On Saturday, 30 March 24 our volunteer members ran another successful Sausage Sizzle at Mitre 10, Nuriootpa.

It's possibly a misnomer to call it a sausage sizzle because we also sold egg and bacon rolls that are always very popular. We also sell a variety of soft drinks. Maybe we should just call it a barbecue. Whatever, we love running them and the public is always very supportive.

Malcolm and Errol
Barossa Mitre 10
generously donates sausages sourced from Barossa Fresh, provides a barbecue setup complete with gas, tables, a tent, and space on their property on which we can operate. We obtain some of our foodstuffs from Foodland Tanunda who generously provide us with a purchase voucher.

It's an early morning for the first of our volunteers who need to load equipment from our Hut at Tanunda Recreation Park, pick up some ice and get set up.

No sooner do we fire up the barbecue and the sweet enticing smell of sausages and bacon drift through the air and we have people lining up for breakfast.

Malcolm, Elliott,
Andrew and Dawn
This Saturday the first team of volunteers consisting of Malcolm and Errol did the cooking, Andrew ran the cash and credit card processing, and Elliott and Dawn served our customers. Other teams took over during the day.

We are very thankful for our volunteers without which our fundraising efforts wouldn't happen. We're also grateful for the businesses and members of the public who always generously support us.

Our next fundraising effort (more of our member volunteers) will occur shortly before ANZAC Day when we will sell military memorabilia outside Foodland Tanunda on 17-18 April 24. If you are in the area, please call in and see us.

Mitre 10 Sausage Sizzle

---- We open most Fridays from 5 pm. Everyone is welcome ---- Our sausage sizzle is well underway at Mitre 10 thanks to Barossa Fresh which donates sausages, Mitre10 which provides the barbecue, gas and the space to work in, and of course the RSL members who volunteer three times per year to operate the sizzle.

Of course there is always work to do beforehand and afterwards and volunteers do that too.

Craig, Andrew, Christine and Clive
There are several shifts, but at left is the first shift all setup and ready to begin selling sausages, soft drink, and egg and bacon rolls. (Doesn't that make your mouth water?)

As a not-for-profit organization, Tanunda RSL runs three sausage sizzles annually and two memorabilia sales days shortly before ANZAC and Remembrance Days.

If you visited the sausage sizzle and bought one of our products, please provide feedback as we are always looking to improve what we are doing.

Another Success!

The Sausage Sizzle at Mitre 10, Nuriootpa went off without a hitch on Saturday.

It wasn't as busy as some sizzles we've had previously, but we still managed to meet and feed a few of the locals and make a few dollars to boot.

Those of us who volunteer to staff these events have a good time together chatting about all manner of things and in the process learning more about each other. The companionship helps make the day.

In this photo from left to right are: Dawn Nuttall, Robin Henry, Christina Henry, Charmane Klose, and Elliott Nuttall.

In the foreground, you can see our new table cover. What do you think of it?

We are always grateful to our supporters such as Mitre 10, Barossa Fresh, Nuriootpa, and the many people who drop in for a sausage or a bacon and egg roll.

Our next fundraising event is our Memorabilia Sale outside Foodland commencing 19 April 22, the Tuesday after Easter weekend. We look forward to seeing you there.

Fundraising Sausage Sizzle Saturday, 26 March 22

Each year we run two sausage sizzles outside Mitre 10 at Nuriootpa, and sell memorabilia outside Foodland, Tanunda.

We are well supported by people who recognise the good work we do for veterans, their families, and the community.

These fundraisers provide revenue to keep our Hut going and support our ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day commemorative events.

If you are heading to Mitre 10 this Saturday, why not drop in and get a breakfast sausage on bread or an egg and bacon roll? We'll also be beavering away around lunchtime, so you won't miss out.

Our volunteer team will be delighted to see you.

Fund Raising Sausage Sizzle - Saturday, 25 Sep 21

Our volunteers at a Mitre 10 Sausage Sizzle
This coming Saturday we are running another sausage sizzle at Mitre 10, Nuriootpa. It's strictly speaking not just a sausage sizzle as we will have bacon and egg sandwiches as well as sausages.

These tend to be very popular, so if you are planning a trip to Mitre 10 or simply want to drop in for breakfast, be early so as not to be disappointed.

Last sausage sizzle, we had several people from nearby offices call in for a feed as they said they could smell the cooking and it was too good to miss.

We'll also have a range of soft drinks.

We look forward to seeing you at our Sausage Sizzle and as always, greatly appreciate Mitre 10 for supporting our fund-raising efforts.
